Privacy policy
It is our philosophy to only request, process and store data that is required to operate this service. We do not sell your data or transfer it to any third party other than listed below. We use the latest industry standards to make sure your data is protected from unauthorized access. All our services are hosted in Germany.
Stacktune uses data about how you use the website to:
- optimize the website, so it's quick and easy to use
- diagnose and debug technical errors
- defend the website from abuse and technical attacks
Visiting the website
When visiting this website, we collect the following information:
- IP address: Your IP address is temporarily stored in memory in order to fulfill the request your browser has made to load the website and to defend the website from attempts to gain unauthorized access
- cookies: no cookies are used
- log files: In order to detect, analyze and debug technical problems, as well as improve the website, the IP address, the browser version used as well as information about the requested resource is stored in technical log files. Log files are regularly deleted when they are no longer needed, but no later than 90 days. Log files are only used to address technical issues.
- error tracking: In order to improve the reliability of the website, we track errors via the third party service rollbar. Information submitted when an error occurs might include the IP address, browser version used, as well as information about the requested resource.
- payment: Payment information (credit card details, email address and billing address) is processed by Paddle. No credit card information is submitted to or processed by our own servers. If you signed up for a paid subscription before 09 Aug, 2022 and haven't migrated your payments to Paddle, all payment information is processed by stripe
Using the Stacktune app
When creating an account or accessing any restricted page which requires authentication the following additional information is used:
- cookies: Cookies will be used that are necessary for this website to work.
- email: We do send emails in order to implement certain functionality like resetting your password or to notify you about updates to your projects. Stacktune uses the service mailgun to send emails. Whenever feasible, receiving email requires opt-in. Additionally, you might receive an email when we update the privacy policy, terms of use or when any other significant change has been made, that impacts your Stacktune account.
- downloading files: When downloading files that have been shared with you, your IP address will be stored and made available to the owner of the shared project and any member with share permission.
Accessing Public Pages
Stacktune allows sharing of individual files by creating a link that does not require authentication to access the provided content. The following data is processed by interacting with those public pages:
- Playing or downloading files: Your IP address is stored together with the current date. This data is available to the owner of the file or any member of the project with share permission.
- Creating comments or replies: The comment/reply you create and the name you provide will be visible to other users, that either can access the page via a public link or are a member of the project this file belongs to.
Contact form
When you contact our team either through our contact form or via email, we store the provided email address (and information about your user account where applicable) in order to respond to your request. Messages you send to us are stored in order to respond to your request and will be deleted within a year unless we have received further messages from you in the meantime.
Access to your data
All your data is private. We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, unless necessary and therefore mentioned in this document. If you invite other users to a project, these users will be granted access to the project and therefore the data contained within the project (project info, songs, versions, comments, replies and files).
